The iconic “Polo Bear” and every collection and new style he addorns have become collectors items for Ralph Lauren fans and Teddy Bear collectors around the world.
This season,Polo Bear is dressed in his “RL” Rollneck, & skiing attire complete with fair isle pattern and ski’staking inspiration from an iconic photograph of Mr Lauren himself that was used in a denim advertising campaign in the late 90s.
The Polo Teddy Bear dates back to 1902 when President Theodore "Teddy" Rosevelt refused to shoot a bear tied to a tree at a failed hunt. As a result, the Washington Post printed a cartoon documenting this and called upon toy makers/sellers to name stuffed Bears after him and so the "Teddy Bear" was born.
In the 1990s, taking inspiration from his brothers passion for collecting the famous Steiff Bears, Ralph Lauren launched an exclusive collection of the Polo Bear.
Today the Polo Bear Collections are sought after by collectors all around the world.
